New Year
It has been a while since I have been able to get any new updates uploaded. I am sorry about that but sometimes life gets busy. However, today I updated the software for the site and will be adding a new update soon. With the new software I will be able to add many new things to the site. The first will be a new photo album that will allow users to upload their own pictures. I would like to wish all of you a Happy New Year!

DenshaTrains
Taking the train in Japan is something that you will do many times if you come to Japan. The Japanese word for train is densha. Trains can be found all around Japan and they are very convent for travelling or commuting to work. There are many different kinds of trains that run in Japan. There are the regular trains called futsu 普通  that will stop at all stops. There are tokkyu 特急 which are special express trains and cost more but stop at only a few stops. Perhaps the most well known trains in Japan are the shinkansen 新幹線 the bullet trains. They are great for travelling to father parts of Japan.

Soy
Shoyu known as soy sauce in English is a staple of Japanese cooking.  Soy sauce is made with soybeans. It is a dark brown to black in colour and has a very distinct taste. As mentioned before it is a staple of Japanese cooking and is used in almost all cooked foods.  As well it is used as a dipping sauce for sushi, vegetables and many other foods. Soy sauce has also been very popular in the west.

Natto
Natto is an interesting food that is unique to Japan.  It is fermented soybeans. Soybeans are let to ferment in a special procedure which has the soybeans encased in a tube made from straw. This allows the beans to ferment.   Natto has a very distinct smell and flavour. Many Japanese as well as foreigners don't like it. It takes some courage the first try as it looks very unappetising and has a bad smell. But once you get used to it it is very good. It is often eaten as breakfast in Japan and is very healthy.
